Hi I'm Tim Hennessey and I am the founder of "Beyond the Sawdust" a wood working company where I create many different types of woodworking projects. Everything from crib boards to clocks to children's toy's and the list goes on. What makes my creations unique is that I encourage the customer to give me input on what they envision, and I try and replicate it.

I have loved working with my hands since i was a young boy and I enjoyed watching my dad create things in his workshop. I'm close to retirement and hoping that this little side gig will keep me busy for years to come. When I enter a wood shop my senses go crazy...I love the smells, the feel of the wood and obviously the visual aspect is always the best part.

Our Mission
Our mission as a small PEI woodworking shop is to create unique, customizable and affordable gifts, crafts and furniture. Many of our projects are one of a kind and we encourage customers to personalize orders. We believe in sustainability of our province and our planet and therefore, most of the wood that is used is salvaged from storms which happen frequently around here! We strive to obtain a variety of local hardwoods and maintain quality workmanship. As we are working with real wood no two projects are the same which makes our products unique to Beyond the Sawdust and to you, our customer. The journey from log to finish product has many steps. Rough saw the log into slabs and then stack and dry these slabs for a minimum of one year. The dried lumber is then sawn into boards. These boards are then planed to desired thickness. This intricate process allows us maintain quality control of the end product.
